2018 Running Against Ruptures

We Walk for Melii

I am participating in Running Against Ruptures on June 24, 2018.

For those who don't know me, my name is Sabrina Melissa (or Melii).
I'm 29 years old, and have been through alot healthwise, maybe more than a "normal" 29 year old.
Having had 3 strokes, many T.I.A's and many blood thinners later, I was finally diagnosed with a brain aneaurysm in 2017.

At first, I didnt understand what it was or what it entailed, health wise, and maybe I still don't quite understand it, however, a Brain aneurysm can affect anyone, any age, any gender.

After some research, Youtube videos (not as many as I was hoping for) and many sleepless nights, I had a moment of realization, that God would not give me something that I was not able to handle, which is why I began to search for walks, and organizations I could join and help raise awareness!

For now, I continue to be monitored by the best doctors I could have ever asked for and an amazing team in Toronto.

I will be walking for myself, for all aneaurysm surviors and for those who have lost loved ones to this silent killer.

OUR MISSION: To promote early detection of brain aneurysms by providing knowledge and raising awareness of the signs, symptoms and risk factors. Work with the medical communities to provide support networks for patients and families, as well as to further research that will improve patient outcomes and save lives.
